Dinner with XY at Melvados - The Original Brownie Cafe.

Mushroom Soup

Mushroom Soup - A little bland, and was not as creamy as I liked it to be.

Chicken Lasagna Chicken Lasagna

Chicken Lasagne - The spinach complemented the lasagna well, but overall, the dish lacked the strong cheesy taste I think good lasagnas should have.

Sausage Rolls

I’ve been wanting to try this easy recipe for a long time now, but I got tied down with school so I couldn’t find the chance to do some grocery shopping. On Tuesday, my group meeting ended earlier than expected and I was done with FYP for the day. Seeing as it was time for lunch and I was still in school, I asked XY if she wanted to meet for lunch. After lunch, I realised I had nothing else to do for the day (maybe some assignments and projects due in the week) so I coerced XY to dump her FYP and travel back home with me haha…

It was then that we decided to drop by Finest (that’s the NTUC that is classier that what you find in the neighbourhood towns) on our way home. Hurray! Figured this would be the best time to get what I need for the sausage rolls. We spent 2 hours in Finest browsing through the shelves and displays! This reminds me of when I spent about the same time shopping at Walmart in USA for the first time with Kailing! Ahh memories!

Celebrated Mung’s birthday at Sizzler Toa Payoh with the same ol’ bunch of kakees. Settled for this location after a long discussion over MSN. The very first time I had a meal at Sizzler was years back at the Bishan branch (it’s no longer there). I love Sizzler for their amazing salad bar (the Cream of Mushroom is fabulous!) and generous portions of main course!

I had the Chicken topped with Apricot Glaze, served with baked potatoes. The apricot glaze was lovely - sweet and tangy! It gives a refreshing feel of Spring on the tastebuds.

Met up with XY for dinner before our Fireworks rendezvous at the Marina Bay. That’s the finale of the Fireworks Festival 2007 on the 18th of August. Mung and Val were at their NOC dinner and Cindy was at her Aunt’s birthday party, so it was just me and XY. She suggested Changing Appetites because of the cheap set meal they had (which included a soup, main course and dessert).

The food looked nice, but taste wise it was just okay…nothing fantastic.
