Ikea has always been one of my favorite places to find simplistic yet classy homewares. In fact, I am contented with just flipping through the pages of the catalogue book that they send to my mailbox. My trips down to Ikea will always involve eating at their restaurant. I mean, who can resist their piping hot and fragrant fried chicken wings? Almost everyone in the queue ordered the wings. I think they added Tumeric to their wings, which gives it that extra punch. At only $1 a piece, this cheap delicacy is definitely a must try at Ikea!

Of course, when you are at a Swedish owned company, you have to try their Swedish cuisine! The hot favorite on their menu is the Swedish Meatballs. You get 10 bouncy and juicy meatballs topped with cream sauce and served with steamed potatoes and lingonberry sauce for only $6.50. As most of you already know, I don’t take beef, but judging from the trusty reviews from XY and Cindy, in addition to the numerous plates of meatballs I see from the other tables in the restaurant, this shouldn’t be too difficult to convince. Well, I have to admit that the aroma coming from the meatballs was so nice I was tempted to have a bite. In the end, I settled with a taste of the cream sauce.

I ordered the Poached Salmon and this was another great dish! The poached salmon is another one of their signature dishes and probably one of the cheapest you can find in Singapore. Priced at only $6.90, you get a thick fillet of salmon poached to perfectness, served with cream sauce and steamed potatoes. I am drooling as I write this haha… I think I have to make another trip down soon!

Ikea also serves other desserts and local delights at cheap and affordable prices. Do expect to see long queues outside the restaurant and spend some time finding a seat in the restaurant as the crowd gets really big during the peak hours (and even after). You could go in a group and take turns to queue for a table while the rest go shopping around!
